For this post I thought I’d share my experiences of the Bath Christmas Market where we all travelled merrily to last weekend. I was only feeling just a little bit Christmassy prior to the visit, but now, I have definitely found and embraced my Christmas spirit!Getting in to the centre of Bath isn’t easy on a quiet day but throw in hundreds of eager Christmas shoppers on the markets final day, and the struggle for parking is such that Father Christmas himself would have struggled to find a space.
Next time we’ll take the train.
Surrounding the ancient Roman Baths & Pump Room and Bath Abbey, the market could hardly be in a more picturesque place. We spent hours exploring the amazing variety of stalls that trailed off down quaint little side streets.
It was a cold day and the temptation to splash out and buy some of the incredibly welcoming woollen blankets was almost too much for me. Instead we made do with some mulled wine and a few other little hot snacks to warm us up. There are free samples a-plenty and I was genuinely amazed at the quality of food and drink on offer. We stocked up of course, Christmas is on the way! We even got a little something for penny the dog, although she’ll have to wait until Christmas to tear it open.
We returned to our car a little cold but all the merrier with our purchases, the kids loved it as well and they were soon asleep on the way home.
I can hardly wait for Christmas day now! Can you?
